G ervonta Davis is ready for his next fight, irrespective of who his opponent might be, and amidst rumors of a battle with Shakur Stevenson, Davis has broken his silence on that potential bout.
Davis is still unbeaten in his professional career and appears to be confident in being able to defeat any challenger.
However, a lot of boxing fans want to see a rematch between him and a rejuvenated Ryan Garcia.
What did Davis say?
Davis appears to have had enough of the talk coming from Stevenson's camp, as well as the criticism he receives.
"A lot of sh*t built up and I'm going take it out on him," Gervonta Davis stated at the kickoff press conference before his fight against Frank Martin.
Despite a slow start due to feeling "rusty," Davis soon took control, wearing down Martin with powerful punches.
In the eighth round, 'Tank' fulfilled his promise with a brutal uppercut and a left cross that sent Martin crashing to the canvas.
The victory marks Davis' 28th knockout in 30 fights, positioning him strongly to dominate the lightweight division.
What next for Gervonta Davis?
As the WBA lightweight champion, Davis may aim to unify the belts, potentially facing WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson or IBF lightweight titleholder Vasyl Lomachenko.
Davis has already expressed his thoughts on a potential fight with one of these opponents.
"You know how it would go, everybody in this room knows how it would go," Davis remarked,
"I guess it would be good for the sport if we fight."
